Graphic Design Internship
Since the Spring 2024 semester, I have worked as a graphic design intern for UA’s Office of Strategic Communications. I assist with the creation of graphics and images to be used on the UA News Center Website and the Inside UA newsletter. The position has allowed me the opportunity to experiment often which taught me more about the ins and outs of Adobe Suite than anything else. Plus the people rock. Overall, it’s a pretty sweet gig!

vice president of media
CHAARG is a national organization that promotes women’s health and wellness on college campuses. I have been an active member since the fall of 2022 and VP Media since April of 2024. As VP Media I create graphics, take pictures, and manage all of our social media accounts. This position has given me great hands-on experience with content creation and social media planning that I have not gotten anywhere else. It’s been so fun to get to use my creativity to contribute to an organization I am so passionate about!

Boots and Bingo for backpacks
During the fall semester of 2023, I took a class called Concepting and Implementation in which I worked closely with a group of 9 students throughout the semester to concept, plan and execute a full philanthropy event to support Secret Meals for Hungry Children. For those who don’t know, Secret Meals is a non-profit organization created by the Alabama Credit Union to provide weekend meals to underfed local children. The organization utilizes the help of volunteers, school guidance counselors and teachers to discretely identify children who don’t have enough to eat at home and slip food packs into their bags to keep them fed every weekend for the entire school year. To support Secret Meals, my group created a western-themed bingo event called Boots and Bingo for Backpacks. I worked on the design team and assisted with the creation of our custom logo, branded deliverables and overall visual identity. I am proud to say that through our cup sales and donations from gracious Tuscaloosa businesses, we were able to raise $2,500 for Secret Meals—feeding more than 17 children every weekend for an entire school year. This class was without a doubt the most impactful and inspiring project I have worked on to date. To learn more about Secret Meals check out their website. To see the work I did for Boots and Bingo stick around!

Vacation St. Maarten
Summer of 2023, I was lucky enough to study abroad on the beautiful Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. Our group of about 25—including UA students, a graduate assistant, and three UA professors—spent a month on the island learning the culture and soaking in the uniqueness of the “Friendly Island”. Each student took two classes during our time on the island as we worked in teams to develop a campaign plan and book for the island’s tourism bureau. My role on the team was to design the book itself. This was the largest project I had ever taken on and I am pleased by the results. Check out the full campaign book to see the full design and read through my group’s report if you wish.
